Martisor is a celebration at the beginning of spring, on March the 1st in Romania, Moldova, and all territories inhabited by Romanians and Moldovans. Martisor is the name of the red and white spring with hanging tassel customarily given on the 1 st day of March. Giving this talisman to people is an old custom, and it is belived that the wearer will be strong and healthy for the year to come. It is also a symbol of the coming spring. Usually in Romania women wear it pinned to their clothes, close to the heart, until the last day of March, when the tie it to fruit-tree twing. In modern times, and especially in urban areas, the Martisor lost most of its talisman properties and become more a symbol of frendship, love, appreciation and respect. Related to Martisor and also symbol for spring in Romania is the snowdrop flower.

Cucuteni este o comuna din judetul Iasi, situata in apropiere de Targul Frumos, unde sapaturile arheologice efectuate incepand cu 1884 au scos la iveala vestigiile celei mai importante culturi neo-eneolitice din sud-estul Europei, cultura manifesta in acest spatiu aproximativ intre anii 5000-3000 i. Hr.
Splendida ceramica descoperita face din Cultura Cucuteni o parte a patrimoniului cultural universal. Tehnica neolitica de modelare manuala, pictare si ardere imprima unicitate obiectelor create, generand o mare varietate de modele de o rara frumusete decorativa si bogatie de semnificatii spirituale.

Cucuteni is a large village in the country of Iasi, in the north-eastern part of Romania and is the name of most important Neo-Aeneolithic culture from the south-eastern part of Europe, appeared long time before the pyramids. The beautiful painted pottery, the splendid figurines and burnt clay idols discovered on a large area, made Cucuteni part of universal cultural patrimony. The ancient artisans saw the beauty of the geometry and knew the force of the Sky and Earyh, the taste of Love and Hate. Theyhave painted the Universal Whirls that the man must equilibrate with the action of the spirit.
The cucutenian ceramics had multiple functionality: decorative, utilitarian, ceremonial and ritual, being in the same time a well-known zonal and ethnic brand.
