A customized version of our Halo for the City of Helsingborg 💡
Around Helsingborg City Theatre and Hans Alfredson’s place, older globe-shaped fixtures with inefficient high-pressure sodium lamps were in place, consuming a lot of energy and causing light pollution. The City of Helsingborg wanted to replace them with more modern alternatives while preserving the character these old lamps brought to the area. The solution was a customized version of our Halo, with the fixture centered on the post.
Halo addresses several issues commonly found with traditional globe-shaped lights through smart technology. Two LED diodes illuminate the globe with 2% of the total light output, creating a soft, decorative glow. The remaining 98% of the light is directed downward toward the ground, reducing light pollution and focusing the light where it’s most needed, such as on walkways and roads. This also contributes to energy savings through more efficient light distribution.
