Back to work after a long summer break.
A slow start, it was hard to gather my thoughts and figure out what needed doing first. My ongoing project on food-safe glazes is moving slower than I'd hoped. Glaze testing takes a lot of time and stays a mostly invisible workload. I thought I'd found a lovely speckled green for plates, but it's crazing! (Test tile on the right), only visible now, a few weeks after firing. Such a shame. More tests ahead.
This morning I threw a bit of everything: candlesticks in a few shapes I'm testing, dog feeder bowls for the greedy ones, and some simple bowls. I need plenty of small pieces to fill the next firing, since I already have a lot of larger work waiting.
