A friend asked if I could make a breadboard in one whole piece of wood for her son. He doesn't want a breadboard thats got glue in it (agree).
It can't be done, thought I. It will crack and warp. Two days later it was done. Once you have a challenge it's hard to let go.
I had a piece of oak lying in the barn which I took to with an axe and then a handplane. To my dismay it did crack almost immediately before my very eyes so I decided to test a wooden locking mechanism for the first time. So far so good.
