This is plate one in Peter Willborgs first book, Flatweaves from fjord and forest published 1984. Peter thought that it was made around 1800 in either Järrestad or South Albo district. It has a couple of repairs and I guess that the picture in the book was photoshopped.

For some reason I like old school silk rugs, OK not as much as a good Baluch or an old Anatolian kelim but still; they got something that I like, even when they are in bad condition. Perhaps they have a story about former grandeur to tell, like a glimpse into the fine world inhabited by the bourgeoisie and they are nice to touch too.
