Getting to visit segers_mat.lund restaurant and enjoy such incredible food, served on plates I’ve made myself, is truly an unbeatable combination.

Yesterday turned into such a lovely meeting, and now we’re taking the next step: developing and adding handcrafted bowls for the restaurant.

I can hardly wait to taste what will be served in them!

Every single one of my students says the same thing:
“How can you center through me? You just press… and suddenly it’s centered!” 😂

And honestly, it really can be that simple.

These are the few basic steps I teach:
1. Use your right hand.
2. Anchor your elbow firmly against your thigh, your thigh is anchored towards the wheel.
3. Press with your wrist bone at 5 o’clock, diagonally forward - NOT downward!
4. Press down with your thumbs to prevent the clay from escaping upwards.

It’s not about using more strength. It’s about using the right position, the right pressure and letting the clay settle in time.

My little ghosts have always been a favourite and lately some of you have even started sending me suggestions for which characters they should become!

I didn’t even have time to put some of the last ones online before they were sold, so this time we’re doing things a little differently.

For the next few days, you can pre-order your very own ghost, which will be shipped in approximately 3 weeks. You can choose between these characters and some of them are already available at F O R M A R G R U P P E N

I bought the new SIC kiln shelves from because, well… everyone else seems to have them, so I had to give them a try! 😅

I’d heard they were really good, but honestly, I was so surprised when they arrived. Yes, they’re definitely not cheap, but they are incredibly thin and lightweight, which makes such a difference for your back when loading and unloading the kiln over and over again.

And if you don’t have to sand down glaze drips afterwards, you actually save a lot of time too which, in my opinion, makes them even more worth it.

I’ve been using them for about a month now and I’m SO happy with them. Definitely one of those studio upgrades I wish I’d made sooner!

It’s crazy how many things I save this way!
Rinse your dry pot under the water, tightly in a plastic bag and leave for 30 mins - back to leatherhard! 🫡

A lovely couple from Denmark picked up their dinnerware of 36 pcs and I was so happy for them. They had seen my things a year ago and finally decided to order. I hope their meals taste a bit better now 🥰

I asked my kid to break my piece and he took the challenge way too seriously 😅
This is a grip I teach at my classes, it is so important to be able to fix and control your clay. Being able to repair anything that comes your way or re-center while throwing, gives you an opportunity to have less of those ”it’s just not my day today”.

This piece was painted with decopotterycolour Sweden AB, UG pencils and glaze. Layering colours, marks and tiny details until it became something I truly love.

The more closely you look, the more there is to discover - no matter which side you choose to explore, there’s always something waiting to catch your eye.
