Very rare Model 9040 ceiling lamp designed by Paavo Tynell and produced by Taito Oy in Finland during the 1940s. This example was originally commissioned for Alava Hospital in Kuopio.

Executed in patinated brass and opaline glass, the lamp features a tapered cylindrical body decorated with delicate pierced rosettes above a broad, shallow glass diffuser. When illuminated, the perforated brass casts subtle points of light upward while the opaline shade provides soft, even illumination below.

Very rare Tank sofa designed by Alvar Aalto and produced by Artek in Finland. Dating from 1936, the design extends the structural principle of Aalto’s celebrated Armchair 400, created for the Milan Triennale the same year.

The sofa is defined by continuous cantilevered side frames in form-bent laminated birch, suspending the upholstered body between broad, rounded armrests. The low proportions and warm birch contrast with the newly upholstered seat and backrest in textured Dedar wool.

The American Restaurant in Kansas City, designed by Warren Platner and opened in 1974. Commissioned by the Hall family, founders of Hallmark Cards, it became one of Platner’s most distinctive interiors.

Brass, wood and deep red upholstery define the space, dominated by extraordinary tree-like structures spreading across the ceiling. Curved brass arches and intimate seating further contribute to its theatrical character.

Rare RY-16 chest of drawers designed by Hans J. Wegner and produced by Ry Møbler in Denmark, stamped August 1958.

Executed in teak with oak as the secondary timber, the chest combines a clean rectilinear case with recessed side supports and six drawers of varying depths. Sculpted solid teak pulls preserve the strong horizontal lines, while the upper drawers are felt-lined and the lockable drawer retains its original key.

Rare lidded urn attributed to Patrick Nordström and produced by Royal Copenhagen in Denmark during the early twentieth century, with a bronze lid by silversmith Georg Thylstrup.

The stoneware body features a richly varied glaze shifting between ochre, brown and smoky bronze tones. Its restrained form contrasts with the elaborate patinated bronze lid, stamped “GT” and decorated with pierced ornament and a sculptural finial.

Jyväskylä Workers’ Club, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1924 and completed the following year in Jyväskylä, Finland. One of Aalto’s important early commissions, the building marked a breakthrough in his career.

The upper floor housed an auditorium for political assemblies and theatre performances, while the lower level contained a restaurant, cafés and the theatre entrance, organized around a glazed colonnade and monumental staircase.

Aino and Alvar Aalto also designed the furniture, lighting and fittings specifically for the building, creating an early example of the integrated approach to architecture and interiors that would become central to their later work.

Elegant Swedish table lamp, designed in the manner of Bertil Brisborg and most likely produced by Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) during the 1940s.

The lamp combines brass with a slender column wrapped in cognac-brown leather, from which two curved arms extend to support tapered textile shades. The aged leather and brass create a warm material contrast, while the symmetrical construction gives the lamp a restrained, balanced form.

Although unattributed, its materials, proportions and detailing closely relate to lighting designed by Brisborg for NK during the period.

Syklus side table and concealed bar cabinet, designed by Norwegian designers Adolf Relling and Rolf Rastad and produced by Rasmus Solberg in Norway in 1962.

Executed in rosewood, the compact circular table opens to reveal a fitted black interior with radial compartments for bottles and bar accessories. When closed, the concealed storage disappears beneath a continuous tabletop, preserving the simple geometric form.

The design was awarded first prize in the Norwegian Design Competition of 1962, combining space-efficient functionality with the material richness of Scandinavian modern furniture.
