The shop is unmistakably not upmarket. The rug display is not that of the typical rug sellers at Arab Street, certainly very far from a designer boutique specialising in home furnishings. And the price tags? Unsightly, outdated, outmoded.

But these price tags precisely embody the spirit of the founder of Hong Fu Textile & Store - display our prices openly. We observed over the years that our prominent display of pricing not only overcame potential customers' initial apprehension of stepping into the shop but these ugly "art pieces" have somehow become our "trademark", an important differentiating factor between us and the other competitors in the vicinity.
