This temple project is inspired by the Taoist philosophy of the Three Powers — Sky (天), Earth (地), and People (人) — expressed spatially through the Main Hall, Lift Lobby, and Tea House. Each area is thoughtfully crafted to reflect one of these fundamental elements, creating a harmonious and immersive environment rooted in spiritual symbolism and modern aesthetics.
In the Main Hall, the element of Sky is represented by a striking round LED skylight that spans the ceiling, diffusing a celestial glow across the space. The circular form symbolizes infinity and heaven, encouraging upward reflection and spiritual elevation. This is complemented by sleek metallic wall finishes, which reflect and amplify natural light, adding depth and movement to the sacred space.
The Lift Lobby anchors the design with the representation of Earth. A square-shaped landing area at its core symbolizes stability, direction, and grounding—key Taoist attributes of the earth. Modern materials in earthy tones blend seamlessly with metallic textures, creating a strong yet balanced transitional zone.
The Tea House signifies People—a space for connection, stillness, and gathering. Warm finishes, intimate lighting, and natural textures invite mindfulness and human interaction, completing the Taoist triad in a timeless, contemporary expression.
