For our clients who wished to enjoy family time while living in a Modern Oriental world, their layout was a key factor in creating a space that spoke to their tastes, and worked for them.

The layout was made open and connected; from the workstation and display cabinet, to living room, to the dining area. With one unbroken and continuous space, the family could enjoy each other’s presence, even while partaking in different activities at any time of day.

Stepping into this home, you notice the space being quietly shrouded in Oriental air. It is quietly evoked by the elements throughout the home: the dark wood, paired with two types of rattan in the carpentry, the plants, and the intentional yet impactful decor which is not mass-produced, but crafted with soul.

The master bedroom is focused on rejuvenation, and our approach to its design was that of subtraction – not addition.

Through simple clean lines and formal congruence, visual restraint is the key theme throughout the space. Here, the mind can be focused inward, on relaxation, free from stimuli.

To maintain continuity with the rest of the home, we made use of veneer for the cabinetry for a refined yet substantial look. The bathroom floor, adorned with air-flown tiles from Indonesia, is a hint to our clients’ taste; a celebration of cultural heritage and elegance.

For a family that values togetherness and harmony, a home that breathes organic luxury encapsulates the dream space for them.

Here, you notice the abundance of greenery, lush yet not overgrown, adding depth to the neutral palette of the home. Paired with stucco textures, terrazzo, natural materials and curved forms, a grounded and soft ambience emerges.

By reconfiguring the layout and expanding the living room, an abundance of natural light was allowed in. Keeping in mind the role of the living room in gatherings, we also used large format floor tiles, for a seamless look that creates visual clarity and shifts attention to the people around.

Everything comes together creating a quiet, inviting atmosphere that facilitates connection

First impressions last, and we made it count in this home.

Upon entry, you are greeted by a first narrow passageway that quickly unfolds and guides you into the expansive living room.

Glass, typically known as a hard and brittle material, assumes the role of a soft usher here. It is curved, and paired with the veneer divider that offers a glimpse into the kitchen.

On the other hand, veneer defines the carpentry throughout the home. It is a testament to the importance of natural beauty; to the dignifying effect of authenticity.

Welcome to Stillness Unbound, a spatial exploration of possibilities that push beyond known boundaries to arrive at distinctiveness.

Inside The Design Mind
Episode 1 • Small Considerations, Big Impact

Zaron offers a glimpse into the tiny, often invisible decisions that go unnoticed in designing a home that is not just pleasant to look at, but even more pleasant to live in.

Beyond navigating the Farmhouse and Scandinavian aesthetics that resonated best with the clients; the design process was a collaborative dialogue on striking a fine balance between taste and practicality.
