We deal with an extensive range of both handmade and machine-made carpets and other Middle-Eastern goods. We do cater to clients from overseas.

Fotohi Trading Pte Ltd is a well-known carpet trading company among the Muslim community in Singapore. We have been an importer of Middle-Eastern goods since incorporation in 1994. Such goods include handmade bags, decorative art pieces, furniture items, as well as dried foods. Our showroom, Fotohi Carpet Gallery, features an outstanding and extensive array of fine quality nomadic/ tribal, village and studio carpets. For the discerning collector, we present an unsurpassed collection of new and antique masterpieces. Handmade carpets are guaranteed with a Certificate of Authenticity, which specifies origin, materials, age and a brief history of the region. While most of our handmade carpets come from Iran, we do have selections from Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. Apart from handmade carpets, Fotohi Carpet Gallery also offers a smorgasbord of machine-made carpets ranging from traditional and oriental to modern designs. Our machine-made carpets are of excellent quality and they are products of Turkey, Belgium, Iran and China. Some of our carpets decorate the homes of very satisfied customers from the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines and China. Providing the best service to our customers has always been the top priority for us. We hope to be given an opportunity to be of service to you. This Persian Kahak village carpet, around 50–60 years old, features a fine weave with a charming mix of geometric and floral motifs. Kept in excellent condition, it showcases the craftsmanship of traditional village weaving.

Its vegetable-dyed colours have mellowed beautifully with age, creating a softer, more harmonious palette that gives the piece its distinctive character.

This Persian Sherkat Farsh (also known as Sherkat-e-Farsh) carpet comes from one of the organised production traditions within Persia’s long carpet-weaving history. While many Persian carpets were woven in individual homes and later brought to local bazaars, Sherkat Farsh represents a workshop-based approach that existed alongside home and village weaving.

In this system, skilled artisans worked in organised workshops using provided designs and materials, with supervision to support consistency throughout the weaving process. Carpets produced under this method were made for both wider distribution through exports and a small percentage for local use.
Sherkat Farsh weaving forms part of the diverse landscape of Persian carpet making, reflecting one of several ways carpets were traditionally produced, each contributing to the richness and variety of Persian rugs.

From Senneh, now known as Sanandaj, the capital of Iran’s Kurdistan Province, this square carpet comes from a region with a long tradition of Kurdish weaving. Sanandaj is known as an important regional centre of trade, with carpets and wool from surrounding villages brought into the city.

At the centre of this piece is an unusually unbalanced medallion, with subtle changes in the drawing that give the design a sense of movement. In handmade carpets, these variations can sometimes reflect the individual hand of the weaver. Or, in some cases, a change in weaver partway through the piece.
