What happens to your smart home when the internet goes down? 📶
Not every smart home setup works the same way.

Cloud-dependent devices may lose certain functions when the internet is unavailable. With a properly designed local setup, essential automations can continue running within your home, without relying entirely on the cloud.

So before choosing your smart home system, ask one simple question:
“Does it still work when the internet is down?”

The answer can make a big difference to how reliable your home feels every day.
Not sure how your current setup works?

Smart bulb or smart switch? The better choice depends on how your home actually works. 💡

A smart bulb is an easy way to get started. No rewiring, quick setup, and app control in minutes.

But if you still want your wall switch to work normally for everyone at home, a smart switch may make more sense.

Before buying your next smart home device, think about:
⚡ Your existing wiring
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who will be using it
🏠 What you may want to automate later

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. The right setup is the one that fits your home and the people living in it.

Save this before your next smart home upgrade. ✨

Smart home devices are finally getting better at speaking the same language.

Matter is a shared smart home standard designed to make it easier for compatible devices from different brands to work together across major ecosystems such as Apple, Google, Amazon, and more.

That solves an important problem: compatibility.

But it doesn’t automatically create a well-designed smart home.

The best system starts with understanding your lifestyle, your routines, and what you actually want your home to do. From there, the right devices and automations can be planned around you.

The question isn’t simply which device to buy.
It’s what you want your home to do.

Most people start a smart home with a shopping list. It's the wrong end of the problem.

Five questions worth answering first. What do you want to stop doing manually? Does it need to work when the internet is down? Who else in the house has to use it? Are you renovating or retrofitting? And how far do you want to expand later?

Answer those honestly and half the shopping list disappears on its own.

Which one are you stuck on? Ask us in the comments and we'll answer properly.

A good smart home reduces the number of things you have to remember at the end of the day. One scene can prepare the whole home for the night. Lights down, curtains closed, climate adjusted, doors secured. It runs in the order you would have done it yourself, without you doing it. What would your Goodnight scene control?

Most smart home regret starts the same way. A few devices bought at different times, each with its own app, none of them talking to each other.

A smart home isn't a bigger pile of devices. It's lighting, climate, access and security working around the way you already live, so there is less to think about, not more.
The difference isn't what you buy. It's how it's planned.

Save this if you're planning a smart home.
