Completed Project | 5-room BTO @ Tampines Greenweave
|Living Room|
A modern home with oak brown and marble laminates for the carpentry in the living area which complements the off-white floor tiles provided by HDB. The suggested study was converted into the living area and the dining area was placed behind the sofa. This arrangement works well for homeowners who like to watch the TV while eating and it also makes the whole area a great space for hosting friends!
The full height feature along the whole wall was not only aesthetic but functional as it covers the niche in the original wall and also the electrical components for the LED lights. The fabric sofa, fluffy rug and sofa throw added softness to the whole interior.
|Kitchen|
A very popular layout amongst homeowners is a closed kitchen concept but retaining the look of an open kitchen. This kitchen initially came without a wall and we used the bottom cabinets to double as a half height partition. The half glass partition and full height glass door allow more light into kitchen, making it look more spacious than it already is. The tabletop and backsplash were made of the same material - KomopacPlus, and don't you think the laser cut design in the backsplash looks really good? The additional space outside the kitchen was intended for a bar area and a makeshift bar counter was flushed against the back of the kitchen cabinets, making it a good area to do some work while watching over the fire.
|Master Bedroom|
The master bathroom wall is overlaid with big format grey tiles and wooden tiles. A shower niche was built out from the existing wall to complete the whole rainshower experience. The darker color scheme makes the master bedroom a relaxing place to unwind and destress. The two spotlights direct ambient lighting onto the shower area and vanity area while the T5 lights in the box up enhanced the brightness of the bathroom.
The original BTO swing door of the bathroom was replaced with a concealed sliding door which removed the issue of the door hitting the shower screen when swung open. This sliding door is concealed behind the wardrobe and acts like a pocket door without having to hack or build an additional wall. The box up above the door covers the aircon trunking, creates a foundation for the aircon unit to be mounted on, and was also laminated with the same color as the door to complete the whole look.
