Acoustics Wall System – The Name Says It All
The letters AWS stand for Acoustics Wall System, abbreviated for a company that turns the average pane of glass into a complete system of demountable glass partitions. Plenty, from flexibility and full control over the use of space, to extensive glass interiors with a level of privacy. AWS’ demountable glass partition system allows the company to instal
l, remove, rearrange and re-use the partitions. With it, AWS’ clients are given control over their office space, as the partitions can be arranged to suit any purpose. Clients can choose to turn meeting rooms into cubicle space, or place personal workstations in otherwise unused corners. To give a high level of privacy, AWS’ double-glazed partitions create the right barrier against sound travelling out of the room. In using two panes of glass instead of one, the system has a technical rating for acoustics, and allows meetings to happen away from extra ears. And for extra pairs of eyes, AWS puts the space between the glass panes to good use. A number of options can be installed and deployed via remote control when a room needs visual privacy. Choose from a string curtain to separate the room with a soft feel, or a honeycomb blind that expands from the bottom, allowing light to enter from the top while keeping eyes from the ground away. If an instant block is what is needed, the pane of clear glass can be fitted with a switchable film that turns opaque at the flip of a switch. Together, these innovations allow AWS’ clients to create airy office spaces that work, even with extensive glass features. AWS created the demountable glass partition system to be beautiful as well as functional, and enhanced the aesthetics of the partitions. Gone are the ugly silicone binders holding the glass together – AWS uses polycarbonate strips that create a seamless dry joint between the glass panels. The polycarbonate strips combine form and function. In function, the strips hold the glass panels together, arranging them vertically, horizontally, and even diagonally, creating a unique V-shaped pattern. It allows the partitions to be rearranged at a future date and alerts others to the presence of a glass wall. In form, the strips can be coloured to reflect the company’s logo, or the interior design palate. The colour and pattern come together to create an aesthetically pleasing look, one that could never be formed by silicone upon glass.
