~ Wall hacking has become more challenging in many newer HDB flats.

Previously, many internal partition walls were constructed using hollow blocks, making them relatively easier to hack.

Today, many newer HDB flats use reinforced precast concrete walls that contain steel reinforcement bars (rebar) embedded within. This means hacking now involves cutting through both the concrete and the steel reinforcement, making the process more labour-intensive and time-consuming.

Typically, when we wall hack, we extend all the way to the ceiling (full wall hacking).
However, there’s an exception: for this house we’re working on, we can only hack until it lines up with the beam. This applies to the unit on the top floor, as it is for safety reasons and requires EP endorsement; only then can we proceed.
