Bar / Meet@, a rooftop destination bar perched on Level 31, shaped by a strong architectural identity. A sculptural scalloped ceiling anchors the interior, complemented by vertical glass cabinetry, rich timber paneling, and stone screens that layer texture and depth into a bold material palette. The refined setting frames evenings of mixologist-led signature cocktails and unhurried social exchange.

Catamaran / A privilege to be part of the refurbishment of the ultra-luxury catamaran Four Seasons Explorer, a floating resort at sea. Reimagined with a light, fresh palette, the interiors elevate life on board as it sails through Palau, waters often likened to the Maldives and the Galápagos Islands.

People / Lin Xia, a provincial-level representative inheritor of Taizhou embroidery, created a stunning woven installation that dominates the lobby reception wall. The artwork merges silk with natural driftwood and fibers, evoking the gentle fall of raindrops along misty eaves. Woven from 580,000 meters of silk thread, the piece took 20,000 hours to complete.

At Hotel & Shop Plus Shanghai 2026, Cedric Jaccard, Founder and Design Principal of Avalon Collective, revealed how experience-led design is redefining hospitality. Beyond AI, tech, and sustainability, the most memorable spaces are shaped by intention and authentic human connection.

Framing hospitality as a journey of Thinking, Healing, and Feeling, Cedric showed how design can spark interaction, support wellbeing, and leave lasting impressions.

He later joined a panel moderated by Guy Dittrich, with Chris Godfrey (HBA), Debra Parkington (LW Design), and Chiu Man Wong (WOW Architects) on “The Awakening of Design: Intelligent Healing & Symbiosis,” exploring how design can balance wellness, sustainability, and emotional impact.

He shared practical strategies for crafting precise prompts an often overlooked but crucial skill for generating outcomes that truly reflect creative intent.

It was inspiring to see the curiosity in the room and the importance of mastering AI tools in today’s design landscape.
