A home designed to make an impression.

Here, we weren’t afraid to let different elements have their own presence. Dramatic stone surfaces become statement moments throughout the home, balanced by rich wood tones, interesting lighting pieces and carefully curated furniture and objects.

A restrained palette of rich brown tones runs throughout the home, creating continuity between the living, dining and kitchen spaces.

Rather than relying on a single statement feature, the design builds its personality through layers. Bold stone surfaces become focal points across the living and dining areas, while lighting is used not only for illumination, but as part of the visual composition of the home.

Smaller details complete the picture, from the objects displayed along the shelves to the illuminated cabinets that turn the homeowners’ personal collection into part of the interior.

A well-designed home starts with understanding how the people living in it will move, use and experience the space every day.

For Kaylee and Richelle, that meant spending time thinking through the homeowners’ routines before deciding on the layout. From how one space connects to the next, to where storage is needed and how custom built-ins could make better use of every available corner, each decision was shaped around the way the homeowners would actually live.

Especially when space is limited, good design isn’t simply about fitting more in. It’s about making every part of the home feel purposeful, intuitive and considered.

For Richelle and Kaylee, designing this project was about looking closely at how the homeowners wanted to live, and translating that into every part of the space.

Every corner was considered, every inch carefully planned. From finding thoughtful ways to introduce storage to refining the flow and function of each space, their conversations continually came back to the homeowners and what would make the home feel right for them.

Working within a design style they both love made the process all the more enjoyable, bringing together their ideas and perspectives to create a home that feels considered, personal and distinctly shaped around its owners.

Warm timber, soft neutrals and tactile finishes establish the farmhouse character in this home, while arched openings, woven pendants, framed glass doors and carefully selected details give the interior a distinct identity of its own.

However, much of what defines the home goes beyond what you see. The dining banquette makes considered use of a compact footprint, storage is worked into unexpected pockets, and the kitchen, pantry and adjoining spaces have been planned around how the homeowners actually live.

Careful planning and design thinking shaped R L and Kaylee ᕙ(`▿´)ᕗ decisions that allow the home to develop its distinctive character without becoming purely decorative.

The living and dining spaces are composed around a warm, tactile material palette, where timber, textured surfaces and soft neutral tones give the home its quiet sense of comfort. Rather than relying on a single focal point, character is built through smaller architectural moments, from the textured TV wall and fireplace feature to the arched bar niche beyond.
