The finished home looks simple. Getting it there isn’t. 👀🔨

Behind the clean lines of Abel’s home are countless decisions that disappear once the renovation is complete.

Measurements have to line up.
Cabinet proportions have to work with the space.

Appliances need to fit seamlessly into the carpentry.

Lighting has to be planned before everything gets closed up.

And every panel, joint, and finishing detail has to come together on site.

Take the kitchen, what eventually looks like a simple stretch of clean, handle-less cabinetry actually requires careful planning around the appliances, storage, countertop, lighting, and everyday workflow.

The same goes for the floating TV console, full-height wardrobes and bathroom vanity. They may look minimal when finished, but making something look this simple often means paying even more attention to what sits behind it. 🛠️✨

That’s the part of renovation you don’t always see in the final photos.

The measuring.
The adjusting.
The installation.

And sometimes… adjusting again because site conditions said otherwise. 😭

Because good carpentry isn’t only about how it looks on handover day.

It’s about all the work behind it that makes the final result feel like it was always meant to be there. 🤎

A calm home doesn’t happen by accident. 🤍

For Abel’s home, the space concept was built around one idea, knowing when to add and knowing when to stop.

Instead of filling every wall and corner, the home uses restraint to let the things that matter stand out.

✨ Light, Contrast & Visual Balance
Bright walls, natural daylight, and lighter furniture are grounded by dark flooring and black details, creating depth without making the home feel heavy.

🤍 Material Focus & Quiet Luxury
Rather than introducing multiple statement finishes, selected materials are given room to speak. The veined stone vanity becomes a feature because everything surrounding it stays intentionally quiet.

📐 Functional Integration & Clean Lines
In the kitchen, full-height storage, integrated appliances, and minimal cabinet fronts keep everything within reach without creating unnecessary visual noise.

🌿 Restraint & Visual Calm
Even in the bedroom, not every empty wall needed to be filled. Negative space becomes part of the design, allowing the room to feel lighter, calmer, and more restful.

And that’s really the thinking behind this home.

Nothing is trying too hard to grab your attention but when you look closer, every material, contrast, light source, and space has a reason for being there. 👀

Sometimes good design isn’t about asking “What else can we add?”

It’s knowing when the space already has enough. 🏡✨

Same home different feeling ✨️👀🔨 sometimes you just gotta trust the process!!

When you see a home halfway through renovation, it can be pretty hard to imagine how everything is eventually going to come together.

Exposed works, unfinished surfaces, carpentry still going in… and for a while, it honestly looks like there’s still a long way to go. 😭

But this is where all the planning starts taking shape.

From the clean white kitchen and built-in carpentry to the warm layered lighting, dark finishes and open living space, every detail slowly comes together to create a home that feels completely different from where we started. ✨

And that’s probably our favourite part of every project.

Watching something that once looked unfinished turn into a space someone gets to call home. 🏡🤍

Sometimes the AFTER really does make you forget the BEFORE. 😂

A white kitchen sounds simple… until you realise how much goes into making it feel this clean. 🤍

For Abel’s kitchen, the idea was to keep everything bright, functional and visually light.

The white cabinetry blends into the surrounding walls, while the darker appliances create just enough contrast to break up the space without making it feel busy. Warm under-cabinet lighting was also added to soften all the white and give the kitchen a cosier feel, especially in the evenings. ✨

But what we really like is how the layout makes use of every side.

Storage extends upwards, appliances are integrated neatly into the cabinetry, and the countertop continues around the kitchen to give plenty of working space while still maintaining a comfortable flow.

And with that big window right by the sink… doing the dishes suddenly doesn't seem *that* bad. 😂

Clean on the outside, practical where it matters.

Sometimes a good kitchen doesn't need to shout for attention
it just needs to make everyday cooking easier. 👨‍🍳🏡

It’s not just about choosing materials that look good! It’s about choosing materials that look good together. ✨

For Abel’s House, the palette was built around balance. Warm beige and stone soften the space, while dark timber and matte black details introduce contrast and give the home a more grounded presence.

Rather than relying on one standout finish, different textures are layered throughout natural stone, timber grains, soft fabrics, reflective metal, and subtle lighting. Each bringing its own character without competing for attention.

The result is a home that feels warm and refined, with a consistent material language flowing from the living spaces to the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.

Because a good moodboard isn’t just a collection of beautiful samples, it’s the starting point for how the entire home should feel.

A bedroom that knows when to keep things simple. 🤍

For Abel’s bedroom, we kept the design clean, bright and intentionally minimal. Creating a space that actually feels like somewhere you can switch off at the end of the day. 😴✨

Soft neutral tones run throughout the room, while the dark flooring and black-framed details add just enough contrast to give the space definition without making it feel heavy.

The full-height wardrobe blends quietly into the walls, giving plenty of storage while keeping the overall look clean and uncluttered. And with the large windows bringing in so much natural light, there really wasn’t a need to over-design the space.

Sometimes a bedroom doesn’t need to shout for attention, it just needs to feel good to come home to. 🏡

Simple, comfortable, and made for slowing down. 🤍

Traditionally, some families prefer to avoid moving into a new home or beginning major renovation works during the seventh lunar month, choosing to wait for a more auspicious time instead. Others? Business as usual. 🏠🔨

At the end of the day, it comes down to your family’s beliefs and traditions.

Sometimes, the best part of a living room is having room to actually live in it. 🤍

For Abel’s living room, we kept things open, comfortable, and intentionally simple. Letting the natural light, proportions, and a few strong contrasts shape the space.

The large windows already bring so much brightness into the home, so instead of over-designing the walls, we kept them clean and paired them with dark flooring and a floating black TV console for contrast. 🖤

And when the sun goes down, the mood changes. ✨

Warm cove lighting around the ceiling softens the space, while the hidden lighting beneath the TV console creates that subtle floating effect without adding more visual clutter.

But honestly… the sofa might be doing most of the convincing here. 😭😂

Big, soft and positioned right by the windows. This feels like the kind of living room where you say “I’ll sit for awhile” and suddenly it’s 3 hours later.

Simple where it should be, warm where it matters, and comfortable enough for everyday living. 🏡

Proof that keeping it simple doesn’t mean keeping it boring.

For Abel’s home at Sam Kiang Mansions, the design is kept intentionally clean but it’s the contrast and little details throughout the home that give it character.

Bright whites and soft neutral tones open up the space and make the most of the natural light coming through the large windows, while the dark flooring, black-framed details, and carpentry bring everything back down with a stronger, more grounded look.

Then comes the warmth. ✨

Instead of filling the home with too many colours or materials, warm lighting is layered throughout, from the cove lighting in the living room to the subtle glow beneath the TV console and kitchen cabinets. Even the marble-look surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms add just enough texture without making the spaces feel too busy.

The result is a home that feels spacious, calm, and easy to live in.

And we have to talk about that living room… 👀
Big windows, a huge comfy sofa, and a clean TV setup. Honestly, once you sit down, I don’t think you’re getting back up anytime soon. 😂

A home where less was used, but every detail had a reason to be there.
