The sink untypically sits outside the shower and there's good reason for that. The original layout proved too tight to accomodate both a full-sized vanity and a decently-sized shower, so pulling the vanity out into its own zone was the move.

The living room's display shelf floats on suspended brass rods, set apart from the TV console and dry pantry instead of blending in. In a long layout like this, its real job is zoning, marking the shift from dining to living without needing an obvious separator.

An extra touch that most people wouldn't know about -- the TV console came off the shelf, so the display shelf's base drawer was custom V-grooved to match its reeded lines.
