In Sept 2014, Arete Culture opened their 1st retail store in line with their vision of affordable luxe living. PART 2 OUTDOOR BALCONY, PLAYROOM & KIDDIES’ ZONE

Designing a family home means creating spaces for every member of the household, including the little ones.

For this young family of four, we transformed the outdoor balcony, playroom and kiddies’ zone into inviting spaces where the children could play, learn and grow, without compromising the home’s overall sense of refinement.

Every square foot was thoughtfully considered. The balcony became a natural extension of the interior, offering the family another place to relax, play and spend time together. Indoors, the children’s areas were designed to feel fun and engaging while remaining organised, practical and connected to the rest of the home.

The result is a collection of joyful, family-friendly spaces that encourage imagination and everyday connection, proving that a beautiful home can be both sophisticated and wonderfully child-friendly.

A home designed not only for how the family lives today, but also for all the moments and memories still to come.

MAYFAIR MODERN
PART 1 DINING & KITCHEN

When Wern and Dat approached us two years ago to create their first family home, we were beyond thrilled.

A beautiful home isn’t always about starting over—sometimes, it’s about recognising the potential in what you already have.

The challenge was to accommodate most of the couple’s existing furniture from their much larger rental within a more compact floor plan. Our goal was to maximise storage, make thoughtful use of every square foot, and reimagine the spaces for this dynamic family of four, along with their helper and beloved dog.

As the heart of the home, the kitchen became central to the transformation. We blurred the boundaries between the kitchen and dining areas, creating one generous and fluid space where meals are prepared, daily life unfolds, and family and friends come together.

A custom standalone island provided much-needed worktop space and additional storage. The existing dark kitchen carpentry was refreshed with a warm oak vinyl wrap, complementing the new island and creating a seamless visual flow into the dining area.

We retained the homeowners’ existing furniture, introducing a statement mirror and carefully considered soft furnishings to open up and elevate the space.

The result is a once-cool and empty interior transformed into a warm, welcoming family home, one that reflects how they live and sets the tone for the rest of the home.

Because the most meaningful transformations don’t erase what came before, they bring everything together beautifully.

Scott’s 28 was an extensive condo renovation that transformed an old, dated interior into a beautifully considered home.
The Arete Culture team reimagined the space through thoughtful planning, a completely redesigned kitchen, three renovated bathrooms and the reinstatement of two bedrooms completed over six months.
