🌴 Reimagining Resort Futures through Indigenous Wisdom 🌀
It was an honor to lead a seminar with the interior design and MA students at Raffles College of Higher Education, where we explored how indigenous knowledge systems can inform and elevate future-focused resort design.
Using my current project, Naalu Resort, as a case study, we discussed how integrating time-tested sustainable principles, biophilic design, and systems thinking leads to more resilient, meaningful, and context-sensitive environments.
From fluid spatial planning inspired by the Maldivian Dhoni, to the use of biodegradable building materials like eco-fibers and mycelium composites, the dialogue bridged traditional wisdom with regenerative innovation—all while keeping hotel brand empathy and guest experience at the core.
I’m proud of the collaborative spirit between designers, operators, and clients that made this possible, and excited to continue shaping a hospitality future that is not only luxurious but also deeply rooted in culture, climate, and community.
Let’s keep designing with purpose.
