gave her old wooden and bamboo dining chairs a make-over with Chalk Paint - and it’s gorgeous!

She primed and then painted the base in a coat of Provence. Then she used a mix of luscious pinks, reds and white to create these beautiful cherry blossoms. Delicate branches were the final touches! 🤍

using Chalk
Paint in Florence and Dark Chalk Paint Wax.

This is a CLASSIC upcycling combination; an already zingy shade, the use of that glossy Dark Wax finds its way into the carvings, corners and edges of your painted piece to contrast and emphasise the pigment of bright blue-green Florence.

Have you ever used any of Annie Sloan’s coloured waxes on your painted pieces for extra artistic flair? Whether it’s White Chalk Paint Wax to mute, knock back colours, or give a sun-bleached look; Black Chalk Paint Wax for an industrial, grungy cast, or Brown Chalk Paint Wax to add history and age, our Waxes add so much with so little extra effort. Simply apply Wax using a lint-free cloth once your Chalk Paint has dried, wipe away access, allow to cure and sit back and enjoy your professionally painted look pieces!

There are two sides to every coin so why not have two sides to your cupboards?

Abstract Artist Shanu wanted to celebrate the different sides to women with her creative illustrations. She explains: “As you look from left to right you can see a woman’s different facets: Pretty yet Passionate, Bold yet Beautiful, Complex yet Calm.”

Shanu used Chalk Paint for this prophecy - she painted the entire background in Original and used Napoleonic Blue for the main abstract figure. She also introduced Louis Blue, Barcelona Orange, Emperors Silk and Athenian Black to paint the characters on the sides and sealed her furniture with two coats of Clear Wax.

The result is a stylish, sassy masterpiece that would look great in a conteporary setting. What do you think? Have you tried painting your cupboards with different sides?

Frida Blue Chalk Paint, in all its glory! 💙

Heidi, the artist started with a smooth base of Frida Blue, applied with the Annie Sloan Flat Brush. Then, she lightly sketched the heart, wings, and tree trunk design using fine brushes. For the folksy details, Heidi used Pure Chalk Paint along with custom blue shades she mixed from Frida Blue and Pure. Once fully dried, she sealed the piece with Clear Chalk Paint Wax to protect it for years to come.
