This painting is called The Fruit Seller by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio an Italian master of the Baroque period. The scene shows two women surrounded by baskets of fresh fruit and vegetables in a quiet market setting. One woman offers a peach while the other holds a basket full of ripe fruit creating a moment of simple daily life. Caravaggio was famous for painting ordinary people with dramatic light and deep shadows giving the scene a strong sense of realism and emotion. The rich colors and detailed textures of the fruit show the beauty of everyday life and the artist’s incredible ability to turn a simple market moment into powerful art.
