The more open the space, the more sound tends to travel and reflect.

In spaces with high ceilings, hard surfaces, or open-plan layouts, sound can bounce around more than expected, making the room feel less comfortable to use.

That is where acoustic ceilings come in. They help manage sound from above, reduce echoes and reflections, and at the same time add a strong visual element to the space.

Can acoustic materials contribute to fire spread? 🔥

When choosing acoustic materials, many people focus on design, functionality, and sound absorption. But flammability is another important factor to consider, as materials that look similar can behave very differently when exposed to flame.

This post highlights what to check before choosing acoustic panels, from relevant flammability and fire-performance testing, such as UL94 and ASTM E84, to a comparison of three materials under direct flame exposure for 30 seconds.

When it comes to acoustic materials, it’s worth looking beyond sound performance and choosing with greater confidence.

Similar look, different results under flame exposure. 🔥✨

More people are paying attention to the fire performance of acoustic materials, especially when choosing products for real-world spaces.

That’s why we compared 3 acoustic material samples through direct flame exposure, showing how differently each material can respond to heat and flame.

In the test, RT acoustic showed only minor damage at the flame point, slight melting, and no clear charring or soot.

Because a good acoustic solution is not only about sound or design. It should also help you choose materials for real spaces with greater confidence.

Clear visuals are important, but if echo makes the conversation hard to follow, even a video call can quickly lose its flow. 💻

For today’s way of working, where online meetings are part of everyday life, room echo may seem like a small detail, but it can have a real impact on communication, both within the team and with people outside it.

Block Beat offers a simple way to help reduce echo and reflected sound, with an easy peel-and-stick installation that makes it convenient to upgrade meeting rooms or smaller spaces at home.

A simple wall upgrade that helps create a more comfortable space for clearer conversations.
