Working at the intersection between design, materials development and innovative production processes, all of the light diffuser materials we work with has its own character and is either a “found” natural one, or a composite / natural material developed by experimentation. The whole low impact / low energy intensive process of how we create our designs also represents our view of how enlightened, environmentally responsible 21st century design and production can be. The energy, purity and truthfulness of light is our starting point, creating design pieces with love that we hope will fulfill your space with light energy.

Silk Cocoon Transformed into Architectural Light Sculpture by Angus Hutcheson for the Gwangju Biennale - 광주비엔날레 2017

"Transceiver Space" was a purpose-designed environment where structure, illumination, sound and human presence came together within five luminous shelters.

Handcrafted by Ango’s artisan team in Bangkok, the installation transformed approximately 14,500 natural silk cocoons into domed structures that visitors could enter and sit beneath, experiencing the interplay of light, material and sound from within.

Angus Hutcheson’s sculptural lighting “Orbette” is currently featured in TEO Nomad’s Art Program in New York, presented in partnership with FOCUS Art Fair.

The programme integrates contemporary Asian art into an environment shaped by dining, tea and Korean culture.

Beyond the museum, the story found a new expression through architecture.

Created especially for Vana in Dehradun—now Six Senses Vana—Vana Paradise evolved from the artistic language of Eight Thousand Miles of Home. The site-specific lighting installation was named in honour of the wellness retreat it was designed to inhabit.

Responding to the scale and atmosphere of the interior, thousands of natural silk cocoons form a luminous landscape—a quiet sculptural presence welcoming guests into a place devoted to restoration and wellbeing.

Here, the spirit of the original museum work found new life, shaped by its architectural setting.
