แนวคิดการออกแบบ: “คุรุราชา” - ราชาแห่งครุศาสตร์
โครงการอาคารฝึกหัดวิชาชีพครู คณะศึกษาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขตปัตตานี
การออกแบบอาคารฝึกหัดวิชาชีพครูแห่งนี้ ถือกำเนิดขึ้นเพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร ผู้ทรงเป็นแบบอย่างของ “ครูแห่งแผ่นดิน” อันเปี่ยมด้วยปัญญา คุณธรรม และความเพียร จึงได้รับแรงบันดาลใจในการออกแบบจากแนวคิด “คุรุราชา” สื่อความหมายถึงราชาแห่งครุศาสตร์ – สถาปัตยกรรมที่งดงามสง่า เรียบง่ายอย่างมีชั้นเชิง สะท้อนความภูมิฐานขององค์ครู และศักดิ์ศรีของวิชาชีพครูในพื้นที่ปลายด้ามขวานไทย
สถาปัตยกรรมร่วมสมัย สะท้อนอัตลักษณ์ถิ่นใต้
ผังอาคารจัดวางเป็นกลุ่มอาคารที่เชื่อมโยงกันอย่างมีระบบ โดยจัดสรรพื้นที่ใช้สอยอย่างเหมาะสม แบ่งกลุ่มฟังก์ชันตามลักษณะการใช้งาน ได้แก่ พื้นที่ฝึกหัดครู พื้นที่การเรียนการสอน และพื้นที่สำนักงาน เพื่อป้องกันเสียงรบกวน และเอื้ออำนวยต่อประสิทธิภาพในการใช้งานจริง ตัวอาคารเปิดคอร์ทกลางเพื่อสร้างพื้นที่กึ่งภายนอกที่ร่มรื่น โปร่งโล่ง รับลมธรรมชาติและแสงสว่างอย่างพอเหมาะ เสริมสร้างบรรยากาศการเรียนรู้อย่างมีชีวิตชีวา
องค์ประกอบทางสถาปัตยกรรมสื่อถึงความเป็นครุศาสตร์ที่มีคุณธรรมเป็นรากฐาน เช่น การใช้เรือนยอดสีทองบนอาคารเป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งการบูชาครู และความกตัญญู ซึ่งเป็นหัวใจของการผลิตบัณฑิตทางการศึกษา
ภูมิสถาปัตย์และระบบนิเวศอาคาร
ในด้านพลังงานและสิ่งแวดล้อม ได้คำนึงถึงการป้องกันความร้อนด้วยการวางผนังแบบ Double Wall บริเวณทิศตะวันออกและตะวันตก พร้อมจัดภูมิทัศน์ให้ร่มรื่น มีพื้นที่สีเขียวรองรับกิจกรรมของนักศึกษา อีกทั้งมีระบบเก็บน้ำฝนเพื่อใช้ภายในอาคาร สอดคล้องกับแนวคิดการออกแบบอย่างยั่งยืน
วัสดุ สี และการออกแบบเพื่อความเป็นสากลและท้องถิ่น
การเลือกใช้วัสดุ เช่น ผนังอิฐแดง ครีบกันแดดไม้เทียม และช่องแสงแนวตั้งที่จัดจังหวะอย่างมีศิลป์ สื่อถึงการผสมผสานความร่วมสมัยกับสถาปัตยกรรมพื้นถิ่นภาคใต้ ขณะเดียวกันได้ออกแบบให้รองรับการใช้งานโดยผู้พิการและทุกกลุ่มคน (Universal Design) ครบถ้วน และเลือกใช้โทนสีตามคณะศึกษาศาสตร์ควบคู่กับความกลมกลืนในบริบทผังแม่บทของมหาวิทยาลัย

อาคารฝึกหัดวิชาชีพครูแห่งนี้ จึงไม่ใช่เพียงสิ่งปลูกสร้าง แต่เป็น “พื้นที่ของจิตวิญญาณครู” ที่แสดงออกผ่านภาษาสถาปัตยกรรม — จากโครงสร้างสู่ความหมาย จากรูปทรงสู่คุณธรรม จากวัสดุสู่เมตตา — เพื่อหล่อหลอมบัณฑิตให้เป็นผู้ให้แสงสว่างทางปัญญา แก่มวลมนุษยชาติ สมดังคำว่า:
“ประโยชน์ของเพื่อนมนุษย์เป็นกิจที่หนึ่ง”
Design Concept: “Kuru Raja” – The King of Education
Teacher Training Complex | Faculty of Education | Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus
This teacher training building is conceived in commemoration of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, revered as the “Teacher of the Nation,” who embodied wisdom, moral integrity, and perseverance. The architectural inspiration is drawn from the concept of “Kuru Raja” – the King of Pedagogy, embodying dignity, simplicity, and nobility. The design pays homage to the teaching profession and symbolizes the honor of educational excellence rooted in the southern borderland of Thailand.

Contemporary Architecture with Southern Identity
The building complex is organized as an interconnected ensemble with well-structured spatial planning. Functional zones are grouped according to their use — teaching, practicum, and administration — with careful acoustic separation to ensure efficiency. A central courtyard opens the mass to nature, promoting airflow, ample daylight, and providing a shaded, serene environment that supports student interaction and active learning.
Architectural elements embody the educational spirit of ethics and virtue. A golden spire crowning the main volume serves as a symbolic gesture of respect for teachers and the noble values of gratitude and moral aspiration at the heart of the teaching profession.

Landscape and Environmental Integration
Sustainable design principles are woven into the project. East and west façades are equipped with double-layered walls for thermal insulation. The landscape is designed to be lush and comfortable, serving as both recreational and contemplative space. Rainwater harvesting systems are incorporated for environmental responsibility and resource efficiency.

Material, Color, and Harmonious Identity
The use of local-inspired materials — such as vertical red brick fins, timber-textured sunshades, and rhythmically arranged vertical windows — reflects a subtle blend of modernity and local vernacular. Accessibility for all users is ensured through Universal Design principles. The color palette aligns with the Faculty of Education’s identity and integrates seamlessly with the university’s master plan guidelines.

Architecture as a Vessel of Wisdom and Virtue
This building is not merely a structure, but a vessel of spiritual and intellectual cultivation — an architectural manifestation of moral and pedagogical ideals. From form to meaning, from material to mindfulness, the design aspires to nurture future educators who will illuminate the world with knowledge and compassion.
As inscribed on the facade:
“Our Soul is for the Benefit of Mankind.”
