Travertine is a natural stone formed over centuries through the gradual deposition of carbonate-rich waters in layers. This long process, influenced by variations in mineral content, temperature, and pressure from region to region, results in different types with unique colors, textures, and character.
We briefly looked at the most commonly preferred varieties. In Part III, we will focus on cutting directions — what is the difference between cross cut and vein cut, and how do they affect the appearance of the stone?
