CANS Presents ‘After the Gaze: 10 Years Remembering Yu Peng’
To mark the 10th anniversary of artist Yu Peng’s passing, ‘After the Gaze: 10 Years Remembering Yu Peng’—curated by Cheng Nai-Ming and presented by CANS@project—will open in May 2025 at CANS Space in Taipei and the CANS Teahouse in Beijing. Featuring drawings from the artist’s family collection, many shown for the first time, the exhibition includes works in charcoal, ink, and color ink, ranging from intimate sketches to large-scale pieces over a meter wide.
For Yu Peng, drawing was not a preliminary step but a central part of his practice. Starting as a street artist, he captured vivid emotion and spirit through his lines, creating standalone works of great depth and refinement. Revisiting the spirit of his 2007 Beijing solo show, this exhibition offers a rare look into the essence of his artistic journey.

CANS 呈現「回眸——于彭仙逝十週年素描紀念展」
為紀念藝術家于彭逝世十週年，由策展人鄭乃銘策劃，CANS@project 呈現的「回眸——于彭仙逝十週年素描紀念展」，將於 2025 年 5 月起分別於台北罐空間與北京罐子書屋展出。本次展覽最可貴之處，在於展出的作品皆由家屬珍藏提供，大部分首次對外公開。這批作品由其子小柱子於父親生前畫室悉心整理，其中不乏尺幅超過一公尺的大型之作，涵蓋炭筆、水墨、彩墨等媒材，呈現藝術家在素描領域中獨具匠心與靈性的探索，極具藝術與歷史價值。
素描於于彭而言，並非習作或過渡，而是其創作核心的延伸。他自街頭畫家起步，筆下人物蘊藏豐富的生命氣息與精神刻畫，展現出遠超常規素描的完成度與獨立性。這些作品不僅見證他持續耕耘素描創作的深度，更讓人重新看見他對「線條」的掌握與對人物神韻的敏銳捕捉。展覽亦延續他 2007 年於北京舉辦首展的情感脈絡，象徵其藝術生命的回返與延續。透過這次首度亮相的素描創作，觀者得以近距離回望一位藝術家最真摯、純粹的創作起點，並再次感受他筆下所映現的人間與天上。
