🤓 Did you know? 🤔💛
🌄 The MASAA social business began in 2013 when the Maasai women from TATU's women's group, named Kazi na Sala, expressed a desire to use their skills in making beautiful beaded jewelry as a way to increase their income and invest in their families and communities, especially for the education of their children. ☀️👩👧👦👩🏾🏫
💛 MASAA is the product of their hard work and vision for a brighter empowered future. 💪🏿
📝 The project comprises 17 women working in subgroups to design and produce traditional beaded Maasai jewelry. TATU Project supports the women of MASAA in finding new clients and improving their business skills. Through literacy and numeracy seminars, the MASAA women have gained better counting skills which helps them run their business. 💼📈
🎨 The MASAA women design and produce the traditional beaded Maasai jewelry. TATU Project purchase the jewelry from the women and looks for selling points in Moshi, thus ensuring more customers and sales. TATU also sells the items internationally, expanding the market and bringing in more profit.🌱
💼 How do we make it sustainable? 🤔
🙌🏾 All income from sales are reinvested in the project, making it fully self-sustaining. TATU Project is also training the MASAA women to take over more aspects of the business management by teaching them literacy and numeracy basic skills, and other business related topics. 🤓
