Friends, there is more good news!
The successful implementation of the Woodins Teen Studio project in 2024 prompted us to develop the next stage of the project, which would be a logical continuation and development of our creative educational initiative. We will remind you that Woodins Teen Studio was originally designed for teenagers from Kyiv who could attend educational workshops in person. Yes, this way of learning is much more effective. However, from the point of view of the master's time spent with each student, it is completely inefficient. When the question arose about the need to train 18 teenagers for 1.5 months (a condition for receiving a grant from the IBF "Alliance of Public Health"), we were faced with a catastrophic lack of master time. Each student needed three one-and-a-half hour lessons. No more than 3 students could be taught at a time. In short, the idea of scaling our project was unlikely, although there was interest from teenagers to study in the studio.
Then we came up with the idea of transferring the training to the online mode, which is so popular among teenagers these days. And indeed, the possibility of conducting online video seminars immediately answered several pressing questions.
First, we were able to attract a much larger audience of students by offering a project of all-Ukrainian scale. Certainly, a teenager from a small village has much fewer opportunities to find and express himself in creativity than a peer from a big city. They have plenty of free time, and all their interests sometimes boil down to watching Internet chats for hours. And the opportunities for earning money have been reduced to almost nothing.
Second, the successful development and testing of online training will make it possible to target narrower groups of people from the most vulnerable populations. For example, temporarily displaced persons, women forced to stay at home to care for seriously ill children, and so on.
Thirdly, online training will create the possibility of simultaneous training of large groups of students, rather than eliminating the problem of lack of time of the master teacher.
There are enough positive points in the implementation of this idea, and there are some developments that already contribute to the implementation of the project. At present, the first experience of distance learning is being made with several young people, and the mechanism of postal exchange of study forms and finished works is being worked out. We believe in the reality of the implementation of this initiative and are already taking measures to find financing for the next stage of development of Woodins Teen Studio.
