Our Comic Relief-supported tree-planting initiative is steadily advancing our commitment to a greener and more climate-resilient Rwenzori Region.

Under RSTC’s broader environmental and climate strategy, we set an ambitious target to plant 50,000 trees over three years across vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities. To date, over 35,000 trees have been planted , bringing us well over halfway towards achieving this goal. The remaining trees are scheduled for planting during the next rainy season later this year, when conditions will provide the best opportunity for their survival and growth.

With the invaluable support of Comic Relief comicrelief this initiative is helping restore degraded landscapes, conserve the environment and strengthen the resilience of communities that are increasingly vulnerable to floods, soil erosion and landslides from the Rwenzori Mountains.

For RSTC, tree planting is part of a much larger environmental mission, working with communities to protect the Rwenzori ecosystem, respond to climate change, and build more sustainable livelihoods for generations to come.
