All of our wood cooking spoons / utensils are hand crafted with care and made of the finest natural elements. Because of the nature of real wood, every piece crafted will vary in colour and grain.

Mahogany wood is a wood derived from a tropical tree from parts of Africa. It boasts similar features to teak wood. Its properties include a strong natural wood grain, giving each piece unique character. The wood is a rich medium brown.

No wood stain chemicals and it is food safe.

The modern design mimicking sound or radar in motion, in natural raffia and teal colors, could earn it a feature spot in a boho wall installation, as a unique tabletop catch‒all, or fruit basket. The interior fiber forming the core of each coil is banana fiber, around which raffia palm is wrapped. With each wrapping, the fiber is threaded through the previous coil to form the basket. Raffia fibers are used in textiles, basket-making, rope-making, garden string, construction and for roofing.

This beautiful woven basket is a handmade basket made from elephant grass by talented women artisans living in the rural areas of Bolga tanga, the upper east region of Ghana.
Handmade by akua baskets are natural and 100% non toxic. Our baskets goes through a 6 stage process to be woven and may take up to 1-3 weeks to get a basket ready depending or the size, designs and the type of basket.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS 
Baskets may be delivered pressed or out of shape due to shipping.
Follow these Simple steps to reshape your basket:
-Sprinkle cold water on the basket
-Allow it to sit for 5 minutes
-Reshape basket with your hands
-Leave it to dry in the sun or room temperature
-Allow it to fully dry in airy places as basket can mold if left wet
