When your clients read a ton and also happen to be the coziest, kindest family of five — this is the living room. 🤎
We don’t talk enough about how strange it is to carry a project in your heart and mind for years, only for the photographs to feel like such a final moment with the space.
Our client had dreamed of this “meandering,” inviting family home for twenty years, and six years ago she entrusted us with taking that dream and turning it into a home. To see something we’ve drawn, designed, considered and cared for down to the smallest detail finally complete is mostly satisfying, but also a smidge heartbreaking.
Loved every moment of this one.
The handpainted cabinet was a fun one to design when the client said they didn’t want to see the tv (yay). Local artist was a dream to work with. Incorporating local flora and fauna as well as other personal nods to the family, this Dutch schrank inspired piece has instantly become a family heirloom.
The view. The sliding wall of glass opens completely to the pasture porch on this end of the living room. Deer run through in the mornings, and the clients’ cattle and horses call this pasture home. It’s a view that changes by the hour and one we wanted this room to feel completely connected to.
A large chat height cocktail table from oakstreet on first, lamps from oakstreet shoppe and personal items from our client all layering in for a space that is the definition of cozy and collected. Ready for roaring fires and good reads, this fireplace wall by Lucas Gibbs becomes a part of the white oak panelling that completely wraps the room in warmth.
