When I spotted this little pastel painting, I knew I had to save it. Pastel dust had coated the inside of the glass (this can happen if jostled…probably in its journey to the thrift store). I opened it up, gave everything a good cleaning, and gilded the inner matte to cover staining. Now it pops!

A bit of research from a Broome County Arts Council article uncovered that the painter, Joseph Lindsley, was a prolific artist from Binghampton, NY. Lindsley died in 2015 at the age of 95. I’m honored to have “Day Song” in my collection. 🥰 🖼️

How about this centerpiece? This hand-carved wood bouquet dates from the 1960-70s, usually made in the Philippines from monkeypod wood. It’s definitely a conversation piece!

Pro tip: when storing/moving frames place them back to back or front to front so the hanging hardware doesn’t scratch the frames. I learned this from my friends at More Than Fine Framing. 🖼️ 🦚
