🏡 Old House. New Kitchen. A Few Surprises Along the Way.

We’re currently working on a kitchen project in an older home, and if there’s one thing we know about old houses, it’s this:

You never quite know what you’re going to find once the walls come down.

Outdated wiring. Unexpected plumbing. A wall that wasn’t quite what we thought it was. And sometimes, a few surprises that definitely weren’t on the original plan.

That’s where experience matters.

At Mark IV, we know how to work with older homes—and how to navigate the unexpected when it comes up. From coordinating with your township and handling permits to working through the realities of your home’s existing structure, we take care of the details so you don’t have to.

Our goal? Make the remodeling process feel as smooth and stress-free as possible—even when your house has other plans.

Because renovating an older home shouldn’t mean taking on the headaches yourself.

You bring the vision. We’ll bring the experience. 🌾

🌾 Good Design Begins With Listening.

At Mark IV, we don't believe in designing the kitchen we think you should have.

We believe in designing the kitchen that makes sense for you.

Your routines.
Your family.
Your style.
Your home.
Your future.

Because the most successful kitchen remodel isn't simply beautiful.

It's yours.

🖤🤍 Black, White & Anything But Boring.

Throwing it back to a Mark IV bathroom project that still catches our eye.

The classic black-and-white color palette keeps this space timeless, while the unexpected tile pattern brings in just enough personality to make the room feel special.

It’s proof that a bathroom doesn’t need a lot of color to make a statement. Sometimes, it’s all about choosing the right pattern and letting the details do the work.

A past project we’d happily design all over again.

Would you go bold with the tile or keep it simple?

Things are about to get REALLY good. 👀

This Mark IV kitchen is getting ready for its next big move: NEW FLOORING.

Right now? A little construction chaos.
Soon? A whole lot of fabulous.

The cabinets are already doing their thing, and that new floor is about to pull the whole room together. 🔨✨

Trust the process. This one’s going to be GOOD.

Stay tuned… 👏

🍽️ The Kitchen Is Where Fall Happens

It's where the soup simmers.
Where everyone gathers around the island.
Where conversations last longer than expected.
And where holiday traditions begin.

A well-designed kitchen isn't just beautiful—it makes gathering easier.

What happens most often around your kitchen island?

🍥 It’s National Cinnamon Roll Day!

There are few things better than waking up to the smell of cinnamon rolls baking in the kitchen.

And honestly, that’s one of the things we love about kitchens. They’re not just about cabinets, countertops, and appliances—they’re where the everyday good stuff happens.

Morning coffee. Weekend breakfasts. A little flour on the counter. And maybe a cinnamon roll (or two) that never quite make it to the table. 😉

Today’s design tip: Build a kitchen you actually want to spend time in.

Happy National Cinnamon Roll Day from Mark IV! ❤️

3 Kitchen Design Mistakes We See in Montgomery County

After designing kitchens for local homeowners for decades, we've noticed a few things that can make a kitchen look great on paper—but not work quite as well in real life.

🔨 Not enough storage where you actually need it
🔨 An island that's too big for the room
🔨 Choosing finishes before figuring out how the space needs to function

A beautiful kitchen is important. But a kitchen that works well for your everyday life? That's the goal.

If you're thinking about remodeling your Montgomery County kitchen, we'd love to help you think through the details before you start.

What is the one thing you would change about your current kitchen?

☕ National Coffee Day

Some of the best moments in a kitchen happen before the day really gets started.

The first cup of coffee.
A quiet few minutes at the counter.
Catching up with someone you love.
Or just standing there wondering how many cups it takes to become a morning person. 😉

We design kitchens for those everyday moments—not just the big ones.

So today, we're celebrating one of the most important features in any kitchen:

The coffee mug. ☕

Happy National Coffee Day from Mark IV!

A Kitchen Built Around the Island

Some kitchens have an island. This kitchen has a centerpiece. 🤍

This past remodel was designed around one incredible feature: a massive quartz island that brings the whole kitchen together.

With generous prep space, plenty of seating, and a beautiful quartz surface, this island is more than a place to gather—it’s the heart of the home. From morning coffee to hosting family and friends, it was designed to work as beautifully as it looks.

We love creating kitchens where function and design come together in a way that fits how you actually live.

🕰️ BEFORE THE SLICK PHOTOS & AI… THERE WAS MARK IV.

Go back to 2011, and you’ll find Mark IV doing exactly what we’re still doing today: designing and building kitchens that people love to live in.

No polished AI renderings.
No perfectly staged photography.
No fancy filters.

Just good kitchens, good craftsmanship, and a team that cared about doing the job right.

These photos may look a little different from the projects we share today—but honestly, that’s what we love about them. They’re proof that Mark IV didn’t just show up yesterday.

We’ve been doing this for more than four decades. And for generations of homeowners, Mark IV has been a name they can trust.
Styles change. Technology changes. Photography changes.

Our commitment to quality craftsmanship and our customers hasn’t.

Here’s to the kitchens we built then, the kitchens we’re building now, and all the kitchens still to come. ❤️
