The creative process of gathering inspiration from all around me and then trusting my gut that maybe that one particular candle doesn’t quite belong AND just because I brought it doesn’t mean I have to use it. I know what I like and what works after some experimentation. The hardest part sometimes is just leaning into that sense of knowing. It usually involves a lot of talking out loud, standing back, cocking my head, and definitely a lot of hand gestures. 😆

The last few months have been so jam packed with preparing for a completely full August and September. So, when you see me at set up, I will likely have a pensive look on my face while I make sure everything is just so. However, I do love to smile and laugh on event days. I can't wait for all the vendor-friends I get to see again and finally bring the visions to life that I've been collaborating on with couples for months.

I love being able to repurpose ceremony flowers! I am not a huge fan of the word repurpose, I mean it gets right to the point of what we are accomplishing with the flowers... but I love the sound of 'reinventing the ceremony flowers' or 'adapting the ceremony flowers to a new environment'... catch me at my next consult saying repurpose 😅 just know I really mean I want to have your flowers live through the whole day with you and surround you with their good energy.

These flowers transformed from a ceremony meadow installation to a lush garden retreat for a private vow exchange. So many possibilities we can't wait to dream up with you!

The planner: "The floral designs are intentionally open-ended to let your creativity shine..."

When couples (and planners!) give us the freedom to create... wow, can we create.

I absolutely loved collaborating with Emily of@dearlybelovedweddingplanning for The Fischer Wedding. She trusted me completely with the floral design, and I was equally blown away by her overall vision for the day.

So often couples come to us with a color palette and then they let us take it from there. That's where the magic happens. Instead of creating something that's simply "matchy-matchy," we're able to design an experience that feels cohesive.

Every vessel, every flower, every little detail is chosen with intention so the entire celebration feels immersive rather than predictable.

Truly a one-of-a-kind wedding for a remarkable couple. 🤍

Ceremony set up Shinola Hotel 🙌🏼 love the way the flowers bounce as we roll down my now favorite hallway. The theme was Michigan meadow with a focus on yellows like citrine, chartreuse, and touches of periwinkle. Hard to pick a favorite flower for the day but the meadow buttercup are probably it. 🌼

So grateful to Happileigh Hosted Events for bringing us to Detroit! Quite literally going to be all over Michigan this year. Starting out our wedding season at one of the chicest and prettiest venues was a treat.

What I love about film is the anticipation of getting the photos back. Nothing like the feeling when we were kids sitting down with that thick envelope from the pharmacy photo-lab, flipping through memories from months before. This shoot was only a month ago, yet somehow it already feels distant in the best way. I love how ethereal and gritty the photos look. It gives the flowers a soft edge and the candle glow really stands out. As much as I love crisp, bright photography, there’s an undeniable art to film. It captures more than a moment, I think it bakes in a glimmer of nostalgia. ✨

Versatile. This tablescape feels quite versatile to me. Certainly, this could be for the wedding day... but I picture this as the "day-after" brunch. A fresh look for the tables while you reminisce with your closest friends and family and bask in that newlywed energy. I also love the idea of a beautiful rehearsal dinner, again, with those closest family and friends. Those times are intimate and what's more special than using your family's heirloom china? (Real talk, these plates were my husband's great-great grandmother's and we use them for Christmas Eve every year.) The yellow, gold, and green details of the plates complement the florals so incredibly well: delicate but sort of bold in their own right. The take away: it's not just about the flowers but the way flowers can spark so much more inspiration for the rest of the elements.

fresh | earthy | light - a wedding tablescape for the elegant, down to earth couple

Food for thought: What if we created the tablescape of your dreams where you just couldn't decide what you loved most?!

Because this is what is going on in my head: The scrunch of the velvet is my favorite. Oh wait, the spiral taper candles. NO WAIT, it's the scalloped edge plates. NO SERIOUSLY WAIT, it's the little baby orchids. Oh but then there's the ribbed coupe glasses...

Then I picture this without linen, on a wooden, farmhouse style table... Being truly inspired is such a fun feeling. 🍋
