If you're new to gardening, please don't think it is reserved for JUST spring and summer. Some of our best eating is in the fall garden!

A kitchen garden is growing food close to the house. Small garden beds or even patio containers. Going out real quick to snip fresh herbs for the soup pot or marinade or cut a few leafy greens to cook down, is kitchen gardening.

The easiest place to start with a kitchen garden is culinary herbs. What do you buy most? Basil, oregano, "Italian Seasoning", parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme? ALL super easy to grow in your yard, flower bed, or containers.

My favorite kitchen garden item? GARLIC.

THE QUEEN. Garlic is used all year round in a variety of ways and recipes. As simple as it is to grow, no one needs to buy it in the store. It's basically a sow it and forget it until Summer.

Sourdough discard + butter + salt = easy crackers that taste like cheez its though there’s no cheese 😀

If you’re seeing this, your wooden kitchen utensils said “I need some moisture”.

Bees wax and coconut oil do the job just fine if not better as compared to petroleum based “food grade” mineral oil. 🧐

Got a bunch of tomatoes? Got basil, oregano, onion, and garlic? Then you've got tomato sauce.

This recipe is simple and the longer you let it simmer, the tastier it is.

You can honestly make this recipe from fresh, frozen, or canned tomatoes. I personally don't remove the seeds but you may choose to do so.
