Finding Magic in the Mundane 🕯️✨ Well-Taylored Co.

was founded from a longing to ensure Taylor's surplus of thrifted and antique goods went to happy homes. That mixed with a deep desire to do something creative outside of her 9-5 as a graphic designer, countless ideas for blogging and sharing simple home tips, Tee Gee Goodes was born. We launched in January of 2020 and had no idea what was in store for us! From digging in bins and dusty shelves, t

o curating the best small-batch products from female makers, Tee Gee Goodes became a hub for unique gifts. After spending part of 2020 white labeling our candles, Taylor took a break from the biz to learn the art of Chandling. She spent months researching before melting a single ounce of wax and poured her first candles New Year's day - two tins scented with lavender and vanilla. Our relaunch as a home-fagrance brand was on June 1st and it was a success beyond Taylor's wildest dreams! She spent the next 6 months hustling into retailers, doing markets on the weekends, and waking up early before work after staying up late into the night pouring candles, Refreshers, and melts. All of this began and grew in a tiny back bedroom of her home. Our dreams are so much bigger than ourselves. Taylor has known this since before Tee Gee Goodes came to be. We also knew that it was time for a name that truly encompassed everything we stand for and will stand by someday. The meaning behind a Well-Taylored life is not one that’s perfectly stitched at the seams, but rather uncannily fitted to you. No mistaking it. It was made for you. One that is approachable. One that’s full of zest and gusto. One that offers grace and welcomes imperfection. We can't wait for what's next.

A truly underrated fragrance of fall - Trope is one I revisit often, all year long.

Reading saved me. I know it sounds dramatic, but during some of my most lonely years, books gave me something new and exciting to look forward to. I’m forever thankful for Feyre and Aelin and countless other ordinary female characters - they reminded me how brave I am, how capable. (It also grew my friendship with Ansley Trask, my bookish gal forever.)

Trope is so delicious and creamy and a fragrance you’ll sink into, like a well-worn chair in your favorite corner to escape this world in.

This song by Phoebe always gets me weepy, as does your continued love for this fragrance.

This was the first fall scent I ever made and I created it with a tender love for my Mom and her unending talent.

Every year she would set up at the New Salem Mountain Festival to sell her goods. They’ve evolved since then, and her attention to detail has grown with it. She’s a true artisan, and this fragrance celebrates her and the talents God has given her.

When I began considering bringing back fragrances from our seasonal archives, Misty Holler was my first thought.

So many of our fragrances hold special places in my heart - whether it’s what inspired them or what season of life I was in - but Misty Holler hits closer to home.

My Nannie, Peggy Jean, and Pappaw, James Ottis, may have faded from this life before and after the creation of this scent, but my memories cease to. I can close my eyes and transport myself to every nook and cranny of their home, at any age and season.

One particular time I cherish the most was when we still lived in Trenton: my Dad and I would make our way down the road to their house every Saturday morning to eat breakfast with them. My Pappaw’s unmatched gravy and biscuits, the smell of my Nannie’s smoked cigarette lingering in the air, wet grass from my shoes, the static cling of a matching sweatsuit, dew in my hair.

We all have memories like this. May we hold them closer this season.

Every year, multiple times per market, someone mentions Holy Wood or Misty Holler.

Two of my favorites from our Fragrance Archives; two of our very first seasonal scents from back in the day (circa 2021)!

For those of you that have never smelled these, let me paint a picture for you:

Bursera Graveolens, otherwise known as Palo Santo, is a holy and sacred wood used by Natives all over the Americas for spiritual, medicinal, and ceremonial purposes. We wanted to capture the magic of this revered resource and bottle it for you to use every day to fill your home with its’ warm aroma and ground yourself.
Fragrance Notes: Lemon Leaf, Cedarwood, Pine, Earth, Incense

Nestled in the valley bellow Sand and Lookout Mountain, a little brown house sits among the early morning fog, and the late afternoon shade. A yard filled with flowers, and a kitchen that smells of biscuits and gravy. Inspired by the magic of the seasons at Tay’s grandparents’ home, Misty Holler is a balanced collision of musk, maple, and sweet wilderness.

✨ State of the Studio ✨

It’s been a while since we’ve had a SotS, and it felt like the perfect way to kick off the Summer.

🕯️ There was a time that candle sales slumped hard this time of year, but our wave of new retailers has kept us busy with making! You can now find us in Ridge Crest, California, Wheatland, Wyoming, Edisto Island, South Carolina, Graniteville, South Carolina, and Palmer, ALASKA (what the heck!!)!

🛍️ Y’all are also keeping us busy at and we are always needing to restock! The speed with which you bought up our exclusive fragrances High Tide and Wilder blew my mind.

⛳️ Speaking of, should we restock our golf ball shaped melts at M&M?

🦋 Personal news - I’m wedding planning, treasure hunting for our future home, and trying to soak up the rest of this season of life. Very much looking forward to driving over that bridge into Lincolnton every day!

🎓 My baby brother graduated from high school last week and I’m still in disbelief. Where does the time go?

⛓️‍💥 in the most personal of news, I recently got my 9 month chip for abstaining from mind-altering substances. I share this to boast in Christ and to let you know it’s never too late to seek help. My life looked very put-together on the internet for a lot of years. I had friends, family, and myself fooled. The enemy will do that, and in our desperation to save something we never should have had to begin with, we will chip away at who we really are to be a semblance of something. I pray you touch the hem of His robe - He’s always waiting and always on time.

When He tells you to speak, listen and obey.

For a long time I was cautious to intermingle my faith with my business - “what if people don’t shop with me because of what I believe?” - but I’ve since realized that the flesh has to be submitted. Also… why would God lend me these talents with any intention to not bless me? He’s more than a good Father and He has good plans for us.
