Our last stop to the island of Santorini which is much more the Oia and the very touristy Fira. We did several tours of the entire island from the northern most to the southern most tip where we saw the ancient ruins of Akroti, older than Pompeii, quaint villages and beautiful beaches.

We had fabulous food, sorry Yai Yai, but the private lunch at a Culinary Atelier and dinner at Gefsis were the two best Greek meals I have ever eaten.

It was a good trip, we meshed well.

Stay tuned for next summer’s trip with another grandchild or two.

Naousa, Paros was our next stop, another beautiful island. We loved this spot, easy proximity to the village with yummy restaurants a fabulous hotel and adventures to be found. Sea kayaking and another e-bike ride. Reminder to self: stay off the e-bikes.

A dream come true for any Yia Yia, ten days in Greece with my grandson starting with a few nights in Athens. The roof top bar gave us a beautiful nighttime view of the Acropolis.

I quickly learned the boy loves to shop, he could smell a watch store a mile away especially a Rolex store.

Renting e-bikes and riding to the Acropolis was not one of my more brilliant ideas especially when the temperature hit 98 degrees.

I had the special treat of meeting my Australian daughter in NYC for a few days. Wondering the streets, enjoying the architecture with the hustle and bustle of the city is always fun…for a few days.

Dining at the Centurion Club New York was an exceptional experience. Walking off the elevator on the 55th floor you are greeted by the iconic view of the Chrysler Building. Views, food, drinks. What more could a girl want.

Visiting Berkeley and the Campanile, a wonderful treat. These bells are not computer controlled, they are played daily, sometimes three times a day buy musicians using this keyboard. If you have the opportunity, a trip to the top is a must. The architecture, the craftsmanship and the views.
