Coming down the home stretch (for now) of granny square blankets made with scrap yarn.
1) Random color scraps, with square placement mostly decided by the random list function at random dot org.
2) Neutral colors - had enough of same/similar colors to make this one fairly symmetrical.
3) Shades of blue and variegated scraps containing blue. Last photo, from a previous blue scraps blanket, is to prove the bordering/joining yarn is navy not black.
Ruler is 1 foot long for scale.
Soon I’ll finish an adult blanket with more neutral scraps. Then a baby blanket in some different yellows, bordered in white.
I’ve been focusing my knit/crochet on scraps and stash busting for 6 years; been doing the granny square blankets for about 3.5 years.
Have made some real headway in reducing scraps/stash. Naturally, it’s hard to “stay ahead.” Other projects leave me with more scraps, and folks keep giving me THEIR scraps as well. All of which, of course, I’m 💯 fine with
All of these blankets - like most of my needlework - will be donated to the Drop-In Human Trafficking Center of the Cleveland R**e Crisis Center.
