Okay folks, it’s been a while since we have shown anything on here. Hope everyone is okay, and we don’t know how many of you still follow. We have been sitting on this one for about 2 years. It’s a rare model,and don’t know if there is any more of these anywhere. Not exactly sure what to call it, but we refer it to a bookcase/ bench. It’s solid oak, and breaks down into sections. It is monumental in size, has the original wavy Victorian glass, double doors, bench seat that lifts up for even more storage, carved faces above the armrests, 3 wooden shelves to store lots of books. It was more than likely custom built for a huge Victorian mansion that the owner really loved books. Measures 91” tall, 52” wide, and 32” deep. Take notice of the very intricate detailed scrolled carvings above the bench section and on the bench section itself. Let me know what you think. Would love to hear from y’all.

Almost in the new year, take a look at this Victorian English court cupboard with the original leaded stained glass in the doors. Monumental in size, 92” tall, 52” wide, and 20” deep, plenty of storage in top and bottom. This has some age, possibly mid 1800’s, and listed at $600.

Just in time again for Christmas is this VIRTUALLY FLAWLESS late 1800’s Victorian walnut cylinder roll desk. Incredible condition with many features including the original leather writing surface, original wavy Victorian glass in the top section, 3 removable shelves, writing section that pulls out, storage underneath. Measuring a monumental 85” tall and 40” wide, the secretary breaks down into 3 sections. Please note the cylinder is solid burl walnut and the glass is completely enclosed with burl also. Listed at $1100.

It’s been awhile folks, but just in time for the Christmas holidays is this “ best of the best” solid tiger oak Victorian hall tree with the most amazing carved faces you will ever see. There has been much discussion on these, from green man faces to gargoyles. The hall tree has a huge beveled mirror, 4 ornate hat/coat hangers, a sitting bench that raises to store shoes, and standing winged griffins on each side. Merry Christmas!!

I wanted to share this one with you yesterday, but I didn’t want to overwhelm you multiple posts, as I wanted you to focus on the cabinet pics from yesterday. Now today, gather up your friends and neighbors to see this gorgeous and CUSTOM MADE late 1895-1900 ART NOUVEAU MONUMENTAL China Closet, or cabinet whichever you are of comfortable with. Many, many features highlight this LAVISHLY CARVED solid oak influenced cabinet. The exterior has bowed and beveled glass,as the door glass is beveled also. Fully exposed carvings across the top trim that features leaves,vines, and fruit. Full length columns and check out that fine trim work around the glass that goes around the door and the bowed glass area. The cabinet sits upon four massive carved claw feet, and the bottom trim features elaborate gadrooning. The interior features a full length mirrored back and four extra thick cut glass shelves. Now, the shelves in itself are a work in marvel, as a framework of solid brass supports have to be installed to hold up each shelf. This piece measures 75” tall, 56” wide, and 20” deep. The shelves are removable, but it is still very heavy. Offered at $1500. I cannot recall ever seeing one with an interior as awesome as this one. Tell me what you think and have a great week.

Great Sunday to everyone. I just wanted to give you a glimpse of a spectacular R J Horner influenced solid tiger oak bowed glass china closet. As you know, I am a lover of the romantic Victorian era and the fine and rare furniture made in the past that still takes our breath away. This piece has many features and I want you to see all it has to offer. The interior has a full mirrored back,and three glass shelves. It holds an 8 piece plate setting with no problem. The exterior has beautiful tiger oak grains with no flaws. It also features beveled glass on the entire piece, including the bowed glass. The door has interior and delicate details around the entire perimeter. The cabinet sits on four wonderfully carved and massive claw feet with acanthus leaves as a back drop and side support for the feet. Measures 65” tall, 48” wide, and 18” deep, and offered to you at $1500.( there is a mirror on the wall directly behind the cabinet, and in some pics, it looks like it is a part of the cabinet,but it is not).

Good afternoon fellow vintage and lovers of antique furniture. As promised in my last post, I have here one of the most elaborately carved tiger oak china or crystal cabinets from the Victorian era we have ever seen or quite possibly ever offered for sale. I will try my best to describe this iconic piece as best as I can as it has many,many highlights. As you can see, carved across the top and sides are exposed leaves,vines,fruit, and a snake( you can actually run your fingers around and feel each and every carving). All supported by Corinthian full length columns with amazing details that includes at the bottom of each the shape of a face that resembles gargoyles. The cabinet has massive claw feet also. Inside the cabinet it has a mirrored back and four heavy curved glass shelves. This piece has many influences and attributes in the style of R J Horner, Meeks, and Daniel Pabst. This extraordinary piece measures a monumental 65” tall, 48” wide, and 14” deep. It is very heavy and solid and traced back to mid to late 1880’s. This was not a mass produced piece, but custom made for a very eccentric Victorian. Offered at $1500.

Great Saturday morning and happy new year to all you wonderful people that just adore fine antique and Victorian furniture. I want to share this “ slick clean” 1870’s solid walnut with burl walnut inlaid Victorian bedroom set. This set is in unbelievable condition and is in our house in Virginia. For pic purposes I have a mattress and box springs that are not included in the set. The bed is a high back with a gorgeous carved crest and side mounted finials that are removable. The finish is in remarkable condition and extraordinary in that it looks like it is brand new. The bed comes with the original wide rails and foot board. The bed is a full size. Also with the bed comes a matching marble top dresser in the same astonishing condition. The drawers are extra clean with ebonized tear drop handles. The key holes are all intact which is very uncommon for a set this old, and they lock absolutely great with the original key which I have also. The drawers have the Knapp dovetails that were introduced to manufacturers in 1870. The dresser has a hidden drawer and I will let you guess where it’s located. Also includes a marble top lamp stand. The set can be brought to our Albemarle location in anyone in this locale would like to get this set. I have sold quite a few of these sets, and this is the finest I have ever offered. The set is offered at $1800. I also hope to have some more Victorian pieces to offer you in the coming weeks.
