Everything's better in stripes. Summer is for stripes — and honestly, year round.

French parlor — Subtle stripe in the upholstery. Classic, not casual.

Hallway — Vertical paneling that draws your eye straight to the end. Stripes as architecture.

The pillow — Bold mustard cabana stripe. One pattern, all the personality you need.

Porch swing — Soft pastels on a summer porch. Stripes made for slow mornings.

Towels — Stacked pastels with stripe accents. Even the linen closet gets to play.

One pattern. Every room has room for it.

A dusty shelf. An estate sale table. A pile I almost walked past.

But what I love even more than the find — is the after.

The lamp that now reads over someone's favorite chair. The vintage bowl that holds keys by the front door every single day. The little thing that quietly became part of someone's home.

This $12 box of wallpaper remnants finally had its moment. ✨

Picked it up last summer knowing I'd find a use for that gorgeous paper someday. Someday is now.

3/4"" MDF panels + wallpaper paste + wallpaper + molding = the primary bedroom at Canyon Oasis just went from stylish to stunning.

Moral of the story: never underestimate a good remnant bin.

I tell people I make a quick stop at Unique.

I am lying. I look down every single aisle for treasures. Every. Single. One.

And in aisle 6, I found her.

A vintage bread box. The most perfect shade of green — practically whispering our Evergreen Fog. A dark bronze k**b with just enough punch. A sweet little lace cover that somehow made it feel both old and exactly right.

I did a happy dance right there in the middle of aisle 6. No regrets.

This was destined for the Heart & Heritage kitchen — maple cabinetry, quartz counters, brass hardware, and Sherwin Williams Evergreen Fog as the accent color we'd fallen head over heels for. The bread box didn't just fit. It finished it.

When I texted my client the photos, she replied: ""Do I have to rob a bank to buy it?""

She did not. 😄

All it needed was a wipe down with dish soap and a microfiber cloth, a wash of the lace cover, and a spot on the counter it was always meant to occupy.

Color your world!

The sunny days of summer have me seeking intense color.

Paint palette — Classic Americana that never needs an occasion.
Pink room — Bold color as the backdrop, not the accent.
Mudroom — Color lands harder when the rest stays quiet.
Gallery wall — The color is in the mat, not the image. Unexpected and completely right.
Wallpaper — Dark ground, bold blooms. This is color with confidence.

These colors are easy to imagine in summer — but think about the warmth and energy they'd bring in the middle of winter.
