Peddlers Den

Peddlers Den Peddlers Den is about all things paper crafting. Peddlers Den is located in northern Alabama. We do not have a brick and mortar store.

We manufacture our own rubber stamps, but also design and offer ephemera, mini books, stencils, classes, kits and so much more! Instead, we market and showcase our line at both in-person and virtual events. We are known for teaching classes for both scenic stamping, as well as most other techniques. Our stamping retreats allow for classes and hands on independent work by participants. We are now s

emi retired, so we are not known for our speed! When placing an online order, be aware that it may ship immediately, but more often it may take 2 weeks or more, if we happen to be on the road. We do not have a staff, but the two of us handle everything!

I am wanting to go back to Loveland CO to do the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo like last year. The only way this will be possible is if I can line up some help in advance. Historically Freeman ran the register and the booth while I taught classes. We hired volunteers to do make takes.

I need to hear from my Colorado fans! If you want me to come back, and you all gave me SUCH a sweet, warm welcome! I must round up some help. I would love to continue to teach, but that means finding someone familiar with the Square register to run the register in the booth.

My alternate plan would be to hire somebody to stand in for me and teach my classes. In theory this could be "taught" virtually, but I do have to say I hate to hand off my classes to anyone. I have always felt that was my "gift".

Everything is on the table. If you see a possible solution, are someone who might like to help, or know someone who might like to help, now is the time to speak up. The deadline for me to let expo know is coming up very fast. I have to have everything in a few months in advance.

Please private message me if you have something to discuss or a referral. Hoping to hear from lots of you!!

7 years ago. 2019 Spring Retreat. A milestone.
This was our first retreat featuring Makin' A Scene images, which debuted in 2018. It was the first one featuring our very own ink line. It included the unveiling of our Blending tints. I took a leap of faith and rented 50% more floor space, increasing my overhead significantly, but all of the space was needed and used.

The retreat was a resounding success! Old friends and new gathered for 3.5 days of stamping, creative inspiration, camaraderie, classes and fun. Ken and Joy Judd were able to join us from New Zealand, which was a travel istance record.

When we were packing out, it was snowing...very unusual for that late in April, but one more detail of a remarkable, milestone event.

At the time, we had no idea that this was to be our last Illinois retreat. Before the next one, the Covid lock down occurred, and before that ended, we had relocated to Alabama. Sweet memories!

Some of the attendees were:
Marge Reinsel Dady, Donna Fanella Krueger, Lynn Potocki, Pat Moore, Cheryl Dostal Miller, Jodi Cargill, Char Reynolds, Beverly Thiem, Roseann Brittain, Sue Morgan, Linda Vogt, Janelle Kowalczyk, Liz Herdandez and her husband, Carrie (from Iowa, whose last name is suddenly escaping me), Joy and Ken Judd, Ann Liesman, and myself. I am certain I am missing a couple of people, and if so, I apologize. Please post here. I would like to include everyone!

IF YOU HAVE ANY PHOTOS or memories, PLEASE SHARE HERE and/or in our group, Makin' A Scene Rubber Stampers & Paper Crafters. I have others I need to dig out, so I will share them as I find them.

The Wendell series is now complete, and ready for order. This means I have begun to press rubber. I don't have the ability to press large volume, and I will need to find some help. In the meantime, I have the ability to begin to release the new releases that are only going to be red rubber

Good morning all. It is with enormous sorrow that I share the passing of my dear husband, Freeman. He had a fatal stroke on Tuesday, and after multiple scans, we were able to ascertain he would never be able to "live" in anything but a vegetative state. He and I had discussed these things, and he never wanted that. So on Sunday, they took him off life support. He officially passed peacefully shortly thereafter. Having said that, his spirit and soul had already gone to be with Jesus.

I am not sure what my new life will look like. We spent 24/7 together, and were the best of friends. We shared everything, life, work, play, he was truly part of me and I of him. Therefore, a part of me has passed as well.

God is so good. He brought us to Alabama, planted us in a good home with a beautiful pond where I can sit and enjoy nature now as I heal. He led us to an amazing church which has rallied to help and support me, and pledged to continue to do so as I move through this process. He has even given me a contractor who just finished fixing our hail damage, who is checking in to see if there is anything else I need. I pray my way through each day as I try to figure out what to do with and about things.

He has given me friends who have walked this path before me, and are trying to provide not only love, but guidance.

I apologize for having to neglect the business for a bit. I cannot run it the WAY it has functioned without him. He did half of the work. There will be big changes required for me to continue, but I must continue, not only monetarily, but as an emotional thing, too. I ask that you all be patient with me, please.

If I am to continue to travel and do shows, I am going to need lots of help. To continue manufacturing our red rubber, I am going to need lots of help. I would ask that you all consider your schedules and the shows that we generally do. If you live near any of them and would like to help out, or if you live nearby here in Alabama and would like to help, please reach out to me privately. There are some regions where I have a network, but in most cases I am really going to need help.

I am unlikely to do many small shows, as I am not physically capable of loading, transporting and unloading the showcases. Having said THAT, I want to find a way to continue to do Lawrenceville and Sevierville.

Lots of unknowns, but for now I am trying to take a break to give myself some time to grieve and begin to heal. Thank you.

Announcing, a VIRTUAL HOLIDAY RETREAT!
This has been developed and is being offered as so many people have reached out this year because they cannot join us LIVE at any of the shows. The Holiday Retreat is not holiday themed, but we hope it is a holiday GIFT to those of you who cannot get to our classes.

It features 7 classes that have been very popular. None of them are new, but they will be new to many of you!

We will offer pre-recorded instruction through a private area of YouTube. We are not allowed to live stream on YouTube until we get 1000 subscribers, so invite your friends to subscribe!

If you have had the privilege of attending some of these, but would like a "partial" retreat package to "fill in the gaps" please contact us. We will try to make that happen.

Here it is! Check it out and let us know what you think! I am excited about trying to bring some of our most popular classes to those of you who cannot join us at shows.
