If you haven't heard from us in a minute, now you'll know why! šŸ’™

Our amazing church South Side Baptist approached us a few weeks ago about adding a special place in the main building for a missions display. They wanted an easier way for members to keep up with the missionaries we support on the field and a touch screen, interactive kiosk was what they dreamt up.

We set to work with an AI model as our guide and completely overhauled the foyer! So many church members chipped in and supported us, either by helping our kids stay entertained or grabbing a paint brush or just cleaning up after us. We were so grateful! It wouldn't have been done in time for our Missions Conference this past weekend without the help of so many hands. It's a prime example why Paul writes about the church being the body of Christ. šŸ’’

The cabinetry was outfitted for the existing columns, making them much more stately. We added the small countertop to set Bibles and drinks down on while interacting with the touchscreens. The light boxes were a nice touch too; it looks amazing at night with all the other lights off!

It's not our forte, but we refinished the existing chair rail running around the interior, refinished two of the oak tables that had some prior water damage and built a brand new screen for the air handler return. Everything turned out beautifully and really matched our church's aesthetic!

If you've been looking for a church family that is dedicated to the actual Word of God and challenges you to get involved with activities, potlucks and service, I would highly recommend visiting South Side with us! We have Bible School at 9:30am, Worship at 10:30am and Evening Service at 5pm on Sundays then our Wednesday Service is at 7pm. We have a nursery for the babies so moms can listen to the preaching uninterrupted. The childrens' program is so good, our boys love it! We're constantly hosting guest speakers and encouraging every member to be there and get involved. It's changed our lives for the better to be a part of this church!

I still canā€™t believe we built every single piece of this show piece. šŸ„¹
Fourteen feet of brand new yet antiqued cabinetry. Wood slats each carefully placed in the bookcases. Beautiful stained maple everywhere. Four layers of finish on the painted sections.
We were married to this project and so sad to let it leave our shop.
But isnā€™t she lovely?? ā¤ļø

I still canā€™t believe itā€™s done. šŸ–¤

You know that feeling when youā€™ve gotten into a really good book series? šŸ“– The story gets going so well. Thereā€™s character development. The world of the book is painted in your mindā€™s eye.

And then you flip to the last page.

Just like that, itā€™s over. šŸ˜­

We had been working on this piece since last year and physically worked on it since February. To now have it out of our shop and in its permanent home is bittersweet. Itā€™s hard to say goodbye to something you loved on and created for so long.
