Jay made this thick butcher block cutting board from a gorgeous piece of tiger maple (aka curly maple). It has a juice groove, inset handles, and heavy duty rubber feet to keep it 100% stable. Excited to show this gorgeous piece at our table tomorrow at the .coffee.shop Holiday Craft Fair!

Here's Jay putting a coat of oil on a salt cellar made of Spanish Cedar. You'd never guess the wood's color could be so rich just from looking at the raw surface!

Oiling some coasters for the craft fair in two weeks. These are made from cherry and maple, and will have a layer of cork lining on the bottom. A coat of oil really makes the cherry pop!

Welcome to Scouty's Woodshop!

We're Jay and Yi, a couple of woodworkers located in Alexandria, VA. We have a little woodshop in our garage and make wooden creations as a hobby. Jay has been a woodworker hobbyist for over a decade now and Yi only started in 2021. You can see some of our work here and on our Instagram page .
