I am absolutely obsessed with what this base is doing to my colorways. ✨
I’ve been dyeing some of my most-loved colorways on from Knomad Yarn , and that gorgeous gold lurex is adding an entirely new layer to the way I can interpret the original inspiration.
It isn’t just sparkle.
In , the gold becomes the source of the dramatic lighting in the painting
In , it catches the richness and drama of the painting.
In # , it becomes sunlight flickering through the leaves of the willow tree.
And in it becomes sunlight flashing off the water and the scales of the spawning salmon.
That’s the part of dyeing I love most—taking an image, a painting, a place or a moment and figuring out how to translate more of it into yarn.

Courage, Anxiety & Despair Watching the Battle — inspired by the haunting 1850 painting by James Sant — may officially be my favorite colorway on the new Toyger Cat Gold Fi*****ng base yet.

Those deep, stormy blues. The bruised purples. The flashes of warmth.

And then that gold lurex running through it like light catching on the edge of something dark.

THIS is why the base exists. The gold isn’t just sparkle—it becomes another layer of the translation from art to yarn.
