Today I’m feeling like…blending!
It’s one of those days when you wish your bed was already made but you’re still under the covers with to-do list prompting you quicker than the alarm clock melody reminder! It’s time to go to work before my eyes have opened and go make things materialize, and thankfully, I’m a masterful multi-tasker!

Last night’s NKBA Socal Gala, Installation and Design Awards celebration with cocktails at the boathouse zone at Lido House! My guy Richard Downes, past President in their 50th chapter year was asked to install incoming council members to the board to serve for a two year commitment of planning! Donna Hartman was installed for her second year of her two year term as President of the chapter too! New council members included Nichole Cooper, Programs and Andrea Nieva, Memberhsip to join with ongoing roles for Cris Roberto and Ally Roberto, and Bee Lara! My dancing partner and sister Dana Prata-Defrance attended this year with Dacor for her first Gala experience! Dinner was served with choices short ribs or halibut with a chilled pears salad starter and a chocolate cake ending! We all enjoyed an open cocktail bar beforehand and afterwards with The Change Orders Band featuring Daisy’s Jim on lead guitar! We danced a good hour or two after design award winners collected their trophies! Indoor of record high heat and local OC fires threatening our neighborhoods, it was truly a memorable evening! Suddenly on this year’s runways we are seeing same ideas as my sister Dana Prata team up for my designer runway from 2014 days of our interior design industry events with her creation called Uncaged which was designed with upholstery and drapery fabrics cut and stapled and glued into place within 90 min of receiving them in the showroom!

Enjoyed a little evening out and about visiting a beautiful showroom to see a favorite and talented fellow designer Lisa McDennon featuring her new lighting collections Hinkley Her signature cocktail was matched to her Paloma style outdoor pendant which is installed for all to admire during Lisa’s speaking topic! Love the swag bag with lip balm in a wooden ball from Hinkley Lighting and newest lighting brochure featuring her lovely lighting design collections! Delicious served feast of empanadas and more too! So happy to support my friends in the biz!
