Remembering standing in front of the grand scale of classical relics in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, 2019. It was my year as chapter President of ASID Orange County and fortunate to travel to President’s Forum during my term. Becoming an interior designer was a goal since high school but so was becoming an artist. Today, I am enjoying sharing my accumulated knowledge of my chosen profession as an educator.

Meet Helen of my Succulent Garden! My muse and inspiration is from nature so sitting in my backyard to paint is what I enjoy doing when I’m not cooking, DIY around the house, or other stuff on my days of “dolce far niente” lol!

I have been mesmerized by Greek culture, the people, music, cuisine, architecture and art, history and mythology since my childhood summer vacation with my Nana and studies later in college. Homer’s poem The Odyssey about Helen of Troy is inspiring and a new film is out this week that has everyone talking! It was only rightful that I name my painting in honor of the subject du jour.

These paints were donated by one of my long time favorite clients that recently moved and cleaned out her art supply bins so thank you Jorja paja143
