PLANTS LOVE HUMIDITY. SO WHY NOT PUT IT TO WORK?

Pools, spas and other humid interior environments can be incredible settings for living walls. The plants get an environment they love, while the architecture gets a dramatic biophilic accent that brings texture, color and life into a space dominated by hard surfaces.

With the right system, plant selection and lighting, a living wall doesn’t just decorate the room—it becomes part of the experience.

People always ask how we keep our plants so happy. We talk to them!

Research has shown that plants can sense their care taker coming. They know who you are!

There was a study done in an elementary school that put two of the same plant species (Dracaena massangeana) in the same conditions and they gave the kids only two instructions.

1-Only speak love and light to this plant.

2-Only speak negativity to the other.

In other words….bully this one and love the other one.

The results showed amazing differences in plant behavior. Ahem…and human behavior.

So if you ever hear me talking to my plants…just know they are listening!

Sometimes we can be a little timid when it comes to plants. You look at your jungle and pat yourself on the back because it’s alive and growing so well. But in reality your misshapen plant just needs a reset and it will reward you with lush, full growth.

Tradescantia varieties almost all love a little reset!

When to cut? I cut after they bloom. Yes, they bloom the tiniest little flowers! Adorable!

Many of you know how prolific they can be. Just pop a little piece on top of some soil and voila! New plants.

This little guy is gonna look bare for awhile until it starts flushing new growth. The new growth will come back full and strong and adapted to the light levels where it is placed.

Can you think of other plants that adapt well to full cutting? Let us know in the comments if you do this with any of your plants!
