We compared cotton and polyester side by side. Here's what held up. Swipe through the side-by-side: breathability, texture, and how each fabric behaves after a full day of wear. Cotton breathes and softens with every wash. Polyester doesn't. This is why the Honey Earth Cotton dress β€” and everything else we make β€” is 100%

This is what a single wash of polyester actually releases. Research from the University of Plymouth and IPCB-CNR found that a single wash of polyester clothing can shed hundreds to thousands of microscopic plastic fibers per gram of fabric β€” fibers too small for most washing machines to catch.

Cotton sheds fiber too, but it's biodegradable; polyester isn't. That's the whole reason we stayed with one material. Full citation in our bio link.
