Adam from (IYKYK) took me on a proper NYC vendor day and I loved every minute of it.
First stop: in the Garment District — aisle after aisle of texture, grain, and color… and suddenly I’m thinking about gym equipment the way you’d think about a great leather chair: how it wears, how it feels, how it ages, how it cleans, and what kind of story it tells over time. (Yes, I’m officially the person who gets excited about patina and wipeability in the same sentence.)
Then we went to , where “custom” actually means custom — high-end carpets and rugs that can turn a fitness room into a real room. Warmth underfoot. Sound absorption. The kind of finish that makes the whole space feel intentional instead of “we put equipment in a room and called it a gym.”
Adam is a wealth of knowledge — and I’m lucky because we’re currently working together on a five-house project for one client… which means this is just the beginning. We’ll be in the trenches (and the sample stacks) together for the next couple of years.
Materials matter. Details matter. And honestly… this was just a really good day. 🖤
Question: If you could customize one thing in your home gym or wellness space — leather, flooring, or rugs — what would you choose?
